Cetaphil Cleanser Review

I was introduced to Cetaphil cleanser late last year by my younger sister who suffers from extremely sensitive skin and eczema. This is the only cleansing product that her skin doesn't react to. So I was intrigued as my skin has recently started to go cwazy due to my taking a lot of different medication for a chronic illness I have called P.O.T.S.  Since starting the medications late last year my skin has totally changed from a normal combination skin. It can now be dry skin one day, oily the next, combination the next, and has become sensitive to certain products too (bad times).

Cetaphil state - 'A mild formulation that gently moisturises and removes unwanted impurities, without stripping the skin’s natural protective oils and emollients, or upsetting the pH balance.' - so great for all skin types. I have heard that it works wonders for acne sufferers.

Cetaphil cleanser is so soft and gentle on my skin. Three cotton pads with one little squeeze of Cetaphil cleanser on each removes all of my makeup. My skin isn't left feeling tights & dry like after using some other high street brand cleansers, but left feeling like my skin is being moisturised while cleansed at the same time.
It's fragrance free with a runny consistency and can be used daily. I use mine in the morning & at night to remove my makeup, I sometimes even use it as an eye makeup remover (when I'm being a bit lazy) it is THAT gentle I can use it on my sensitive eyes with absolutely no irritation.

Directions on the bottle instruct to apply Cetaphil to the skin and massage gently, wipe off excess with a soft tissue, cotton wool or rinse with water and pat dry with a soft towel.

ingredients
Aqua/water, cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol, butylparaben, methylparaben, propylparaben, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearyl alcohol.

£8.99 236ml Available in Boots & selected pharmacies.

What cleanser do you use? Have you thought about trying Cetaphil out? Or tried out any of there other products? I'd be interested to know what you think of them.

  1. sorry to hear about your illness lovely :(

I hope things are on the mend ^^.
I'm going to purchase this the next time I'm in Boots. I'm currently on some medication too and it's making me have breakouts with spots, which is so annoying! Because I've never suffered from them before.

I'm currently using a boots own toner with rose water in it and I must admit my skin has cleared up since using it and it was only £2 something.

I'd love to know what people use to keep such clear skin.

    Lovely blog again! :)

    1. Aww thank you sweetie, i hope things are on the mend for you too! Same here I've never had spots before the meds, I was so lucky. It's a shock when you start getting them isn't it :/
£2 wow I'll have a look for the toner when I'm in Boots next time. I'm using Clarins toning lotion with the cetaphil & it really seems to be working on my skin at the moment.

  2. This looks so good:) I'm kind of a Cleanser Hoarder, but I've never tried this.

If you haven't tried the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, you definatly should as it is so gentle and works amazingly well :)
.. also the Emma Hardie cleansing Balm is really nice, quite pricey but worth the money if your willing to splurge a little.

Do you know any good moisturisers by the way? As I'm on the look out but can't seem to find one the suits? My skin is oily yet with dry patches? bad times!

    Love Em

  4. I've never tried cetaphil but I have heard great things about it. At the moment I am using my Origins clean energy oil cleanser, which is ok, and I am waiting to finish it before I can repurchase my beloved Ren cleansing milk.

  8. I have been thinking about trying this cleanser. Right now I am using the Aveeno daily cleanser for even skin tone and texture and it works rather well with my Clarisonic. I may give this one a try next.

  9. Seriously can't live without my Cetaphil cleanser! I've used it about two years now. My dermatologist put me on some pretty harsh creams, and this cleanser calms my skin down greatly. Love it! I've tried many high-end and always prefer this one! xx

  10. This sounds lovely! My skin is sensitive to absolutely everything so anything that doesn't cause it to react is a bonus, ill definitely look out for this next time I'm browsing boots. Thanks for suggesting xxx
