Maybelline Eye Studio Liner Gel In Brown

At the start of this year I decided that I wanted to master the art of gel eyeliner, as I have always favoured liquid liner. Mid spring I had cracked it & have been addicted ever since.
I love my black maybelline gel eyeliner but I also love a subtle brown smokey eye (my safe go to look) & think that with this look black gel liner can sometimes be to harsh for a day time & especially in the summer, so I decided to try out the maybelline gel eyeliner in brown.

The gel is a beautiful dark brown shade with a smooth consistency. Easily applied to the eyelid with out causing any dragging along the lash line, It comes with a brush which works well, but I prefer to use my Crown Brush C250-1 Taklon Liner as it gives me so much more control (see review here)

This lasts brilliantly on the lash line throughout the day, with no smudging even in the heat we've been having here in the U.K.
Although my one problem is I have recently become addicted to doing a cat eye (I don't feel my face is complete without it) & this product doesn't last very well in my tear duct area. So I am on the hunt for a gel eyeliner that doesn't smudge on the water line. If you know of any please let me know guys.
Since I've been using brown during the entire spring & summer, I now find black gel liner looks way to harsh for me & haven't used it since. It would seem I am now hooked on brown gel eyeliner.

£7.99 from drugstores such as Boots & Superdrug.

Thanks for reading guys :)

  1. i love brown eyeliner so much more than black because it's such a softer look! i've heard so many good things about the maybelline gel liners but i've never tried one. does this product ever transfer to the upper eyelid? i've had problems like that with other liners but i'm looking for the perfect one that will just stay put!!

  2. Your eye makeup/brows look so perfect in that last picture, gorgeous! I attempted the Bobbi Brown Gel Liner but it was so dry. I'm still loving liquid eyeliner but the gel looks good!

  5. I could not agree more with using brown!!! I never use black in the daytime anymore... I typically use MAC Dipdown Fluidline or Almay liquid liner in Brown. I feel incomplete without a cat eye as well! While I do like gel liner and I get a neater result it takes me twice as long so I usually stick with liquid.

I have the Maybelline Eye Studio in Black, now I will have to try the Brown one!!!

  8. The Maybelline one all the way, Got Black, Brown and the Black/Gold one which is really lovely, the gold flecks really take a little away from the harshness of the black. I find its a middle ground between the black and brown. Lovely Review Hun xx

  14. I was recommended one ages ago by Clinique which is apparently worn by the guys in heavy metal bands on stage on the water line, apparently it never smudges. This looks good though, I prefer to use brown as I feel that black is a bit too heavy/dark for me?
