L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Advanced Correcting Serum

L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Advanced Correcting Serum is the first serum I have used & I had high hopes for it.

Claiming to be for younger skin (ages 20+) & to help fight the imperfection, enlarged pores & uneven skin texture that being in your twenties brings along.

I followed L'oreals instructions of using the serum morning & evening before applying my moisturiser. For the first few days of using the serum I did think my skin felt slightly softer & more supple, after that not much else has happened. I used the serum religiously everyday for five weeks until the bottle had finished hoping it would make a difference to my skin & would live up to its claims, & unfortunately it has done nothing of the sort.
It did make my skin feel slightly moisturised & it didn't break me out or make any of my skin issues worse but it definitely didn't help with them.

All being said I do have to give it to Loreal for the packaging, a nice sturdy plastic bottle & it's PINK, what girl wouldn't fall for that packaging.

I have heard rave reviews of this serum from other beauty bloggers & youtubers, so maybe I was just unlucky.

Full price £16.99. At the moment on sale for £11.32 from Superdrug & £11.33 from Boots.

  1. I was going to purchase this serum but didn't because of the price tag. I am so glad I have read this because I don't think I will bother now. Thanks for the great review, sorry the product didn't meet your expectations x

  2. That's a shame about the product not making much of a difference after the first few days. I'm always on the hunt for new skincare, I think I'll be avoiding this one though. Are you looking for something to help make your skin look more youthful? I can rave about the Estee Lauder Day Wear moisturiser enough, it is amazing and worth every penny xx

  4. I definitely did not get the results I was hoping for with this. All it really did for me was make my skin feel softer. But I was hoping it would help with my fine lines as it claimed. But it did nothing for them. Going to continue using for another month and add the day/night cream to the routine and see if it works any better with that. But after that, if I don't see drastic improvements then I won't be repurchasing this. Great review!!!!

  7. The bottle design is very cute! I'm sorry this one didn't work for you. Skin care is so crazy because what works miracles for some can do nothing for others, or even worse, break them out! I tangled with a cleansing oil about 2 months ago that caused tremendous carnage (breakouts GALORE) but I've seen it raved about by so many others as a holy grail! Skin care truly is an individual journey, lol!

  8. I don't think that serums are meant to do much more than just make your skin appear to look a bit smoother and more plumped up. I have tried a lot of serums in my life (I am 32) ranging from cheap ones to very expensive. None of them did anything more than plumping up my skin. You may want to read my article about moisturisers and how they work. Serums do a similar job. I think people are often tricked into believing that some major differences will happen to their skin if they use one product or another. The reality is that nothing happens in the long run, so it's better if you know what to expect when you spend your money on skin care.

  10. I've been wondering about this serum. L'Oreal has so many skin care products but they really do go largely unnoticed. It's a shame it didn't quite work for you, especially when others seem to have noticed good results.

But truthfully, you rather use something wonderful so hopefully you'll find something better.
