How to take your Summer glow into the Autumn

Here are a few of my tips to help us ease out of the Summer and into the Autumn.

Maintain That Tan
Keep your skin moisturised while maintaining your summer holiday tan by using a tinted moisturiser. My favourite is Garnier Summer Body Lotion £5.49, which comes in both a light and dark shade.

Keep The Healthy GlowKeep the youthful glow that the summer sun brings by wearing a luminizing primer under your foundation. Try either Mac strobe cream which is loaded with vitamins and a mega dose of green tea £24.50/£10 travel size. Smashbox Photo Finish Luminizing Foundation Primer £25 which has an oil-free formula that helps fill in fine lines and pores. Better still (for the budget friendly) for less than half the price at £9.99 try L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique, which does exactly the same job but without the added vitamins.

Glossy Lips
A glossy lip makes the eyes sparkle & instantly makes me think of Summer. You can keep it neutral with a light shade like YSL Gloss Volupte in 'Rose Jersey 202' £22.00 or
Maybelline Colorsensational Elixers Gloss £6.99 or smooth the transition into autumn with a glossy darker lip like NYX Butter Lip Gloss in 'Devil Food Cake' £5.00 .

Cheat That JLo Glow

I am a absolute lover of highlights. Highlighting consists of placing a skin tone shimmery powder or cream to the high planes of the face eg, cheek bones, centre of the nose, cupid bow. Simply put, anywhere the sun would cast a natural glow we replicate that with a highlighter, this adds a healthy luminescent glow to the skin. The Mary Loumanizer by The Balm £17.50 is a beautiful powder highlight. More mature skin could try a cream product like Mac Cream Colour Base in 'Pearl' £16.00.

Bronze The Face

Using bronzer on the face is a pretty obvious technique to help take your summer glow into autumn. After applying bronzer on the usual places, forehead, cheeks, chin, tip of the nose, with the same brush apply it to the crease of the eye. This not only helps with the over all fluidity of applying bronzer but also helps to widen the eye & makes them really pop & it only takes an extra couple of seconds to do. Mac Bronzing Powder in 'Matte Bronze' £22.00

Bright Eyes
Another fab trick to make the eyes appear brighter and wider is to apply a creamy nude shade pencil liner to the inner water line. NYX Wonder Pencil £4.50 or Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner 'Nude' £3.99.
